The marketing claim
“Kills weeds, not lawns”
The chemical reality
Doff’s 200 ml lawn bottle is mecoprop-P at 37.5 g/L plus dicamba at 4.675 g/L — a selective auxin herbicide for turf, not glyphosate. Weedol LN Conc is the same pair. Current Weedol Lawn (MAPP 17599) is a different three-way — MCPA, fluroxypyr and clopyralid — see that teardown. A 1 L bottle of the mecoprop-P/dicamba formulation is the same working spray without the 200 ml garden-centre tax.

The Marketing Claim & The Catch
A 200 millilitres pack of Doff Concentrated Lawn Weedkiller typically retails around £8.49 in lawn & garden. That is a UK shelf-price snapshot for the maths on this page — not a live shop quote or a manufacturer RRP. Listings, sizes and deals move. The marketing line is that you are buying a finished lifestyle product, not a weighed chemical.
On the pack: Kills weeds, not lawns; Targets daisies, dandelions, clover and docks; and Systemic — works down to the roots.

Proprietary Blend & Dosage Breakdown
The labelled active is Mecoprop-P and dicamba at 4.2%. Everything else in the pack is water (potassium salts as a soluble concentrate).
At 4.2% active, most of what you pay for is carrier and packaging. The brand is selling convenience, fragrance and a label — not a uniquely potent molecule.
Branded working strength is whatever comes out of the bottle. The bulk alternative is 4.2% Mecoprop-P 37.5 g/L + dicamba 4.675 g/L lawn concentrate, mixed to 50 ml in 5 L water (25 m² — Doff label band).

Follow the mixing method and the supplier SDS. Wear the listed PPE. Do not mix incompatible oxidisers, acids or ammonia.
- Pesticide: read the HSE/MAPP label on the bottle you buy. Gloves, long sleeves, no spray drift onto flowers or ponds.

- Apply on a still, dry day above about 15 °C when weeds are growing. Keep pets off until dry. Do not mow for 24 hours. Do not treat lawns under six months old.
- 1 litre of concentrate at 50 ml per 5 L batch makes 20 batches (100 L of working spray) — five 200 ml Doff bottles.
- Compost the first four mowings for six months before using as mulch. Triple-rinse the can; never put glyphosate in the same sprayer afterwards without a thorough wash.

Active ingredient and cheaper alternative — FAQ
Is this the same as Weedol Pathclear?
No. Pathclear is glyphosate for paths and bare ground — it will kill grass. This bottle is mecoprop-P (CAS 16484-77-8) plus dicamba (CAS 1918-00-9) for broad-leaved weeds in established lawns. Weedol LN Conc is the same pair; current Weedol Lawn is MCPA/fluroxypyr/clopyralid — different SDS, different teardown.
Can I use SBK triclopyr on the lawn instead?
Wrong tool. SBK is triclopyr for woody weeds and brambles; it can scorch turf at brushwood rates. Daisies and dandelions in grass are this teardown, not SBK and not glyphosate.
How do you mix the Concentrated Lawn Weedkiller dupe stack?
